If you have Kaspersky Internet Security or Anti-virus, and hotComm is online but
you can't connect to a room or the relays stay red, then please follow the steps
for configuring Kaspersky. See Configure
Notes:
- Pause Protection
You can turn Kaspersky off temporarily long enough to connect to your room. Once
you have connected to the room, you can turn Kaspersky on again and you'll stay
connected to the room. To pause Kaspersky:
- Right-click the Kaspersky icon and select Pause Protection
- Click Resume Manually ... or select an interval such as In 5
minutes and click Resume Protection in.
Note: We recommend you close your email programs to avoid viruses while Kaspersky
is paused.
- Norton firewalls
If you have previously installed Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall,
hotComm may be unable to connect to relay servers until you completely remove the
remnants of the Norton software that are left behind by their uninstall, even if
you have configured Kaspersky correctly. See Norton.
- Training Mode
If your Kaspersky product has a Training Mode option, please see
Training Mode for comments from a customer.
The Kaspersky website is at www.kaspersky.com.

Norton Internet Security note
If you have previously installed Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall,
your hotComm client may be unable to connect until you completely remove the remnants
of the Norton software that are left behind by the Norton uninstall, even if you
configure Kaspersky correctly. Symantec Corporation provides a Norton Removal Tool
