These are some tips for restoring a hotComm relay server connection:
- Relog/Resynch
If you determine that the relay server has lost connection to the VNS server, click File, then Resynch/relog, and wait 30 seconds. This usually restores connection.
- Soft Close
If you determine that the relay server needs to be restarted, you can do a "soft-close", which is less severe than completely restarting the server. All users will be disconnected briefly, but hotComm attempts to reconnect them, and many users won't notice any interruption.
In a soft-close, some settings made since the last full re-start may be lost.
To restart, right-click the "S1" session entry in the Windows tasbar and select "Soft-Close".
