Sudbury MA, June 18, 2001 - 1stWorks Corporation
today announced the release of IM-Live, its innovative and inexpensive solution for instant and secure online messaging, building improved customer relationships directly from any web page or from within any email message.
IM-Live delivers immediate, serverless, Internet-based Messaging for any online sales and service opportunity. When a prospect clicks on the IM-Live link, which you have placed on your Web page, IM-Live launches a small Java applet and automatically creates a direct, secure, real time connection between you and your customers or prospects. Now you can respond to questions in real time and make the sale. Customer inquiries can be answered wherever you connect to the p2p network, immediately, interactively, creating the timely response that builds better customer relationships. Even the page where the connection was launched is identified, so that your responses can be more focused and effective. And IM-Live includes a powerful abbreviation/expansion facility to code frequently used expressions for automatic expansion and reduced effort.
IM-Live also adds the same dynamic connection capability to your email messages. Any email can now have an active link right in it. Just add an IM-Live button to any email to be instantly more effective. Close your email message with: "P.S. Click on my IM-Live button, we can discuss this immediately." A simple click on that link opens a Java applet window for the recipient and creates an immediate, real time interactive messaging connection to the sender from any browser, redirecting the connection to the senders desktop.
IM-Live creates its connections across the 1stWorks Peer Network, a highly innovative and patented peer to peer address management technology, designed as the foundation for enabling a new generation of peer to peer (p2p) software solutions. 1stWorks Peer Network is optimized for connectivity in serverless peer to peer networks, delivering high performance and security for communication and collaboration from any desktop.
The 1stWorksPeer Network manages peer to peer connections through the its Virtual Network Server (VNS) which complements the similar functionality of the Web's Dynamic Name Server (DNS). The VNS is specifically designed to monitor and manage the dynamically allocated IP addresses (or port numbers for NAT protected users) issued by Access Providers or Corporations when users connect to the Internet. The VNS enables these connections by relating the dynamic IP address or port, which changes every time the user connects to the Internet, to the user's email address, which is relatively constant. Only the management of the current location of registered users requires a central server, the client software handles everything else.
All you need to communicate through your personal IM-Live connection is hotComm, the 1stWorks peer client, installed and running on your desktop. hotComm transmits every single word separately so that the message builds dynamically in front of each of you. In addition to connecting you to IM-Live opportunities, hotComm enables you to collaborate with other hotComm users, supporting global Messaging and File Sharing, just like the hotComm client you can buy for collaboration. And you can add other hotComm users to your Java client chat session to access specialist support for example. Since there is no central server managing data flow, there is no single point of failure or gateway for unauthorized access. Security is further insured through the use of a streaming cipher of all session data encrypted with a unique key based on the specific combination of the particular session and the individual participants.
1stWorks has made performance, security and scalability the foundation of its Network. Connections are established through state machine technology and transfers are made using UDP for superior performance. And remember, Serverless connections means less expense, less network management and more flexibility.
A free 30 day trial copy of IM-Live is available now at www.hotcomm.com/downloads.asp.
Introductory pricing for IM-Live, including the hotComm client and ezPeer, is $59.95 for a 3 month license and $174.95 for a full year of unlimited use.
