Room Roles
There are different roles in a hotComm room. Most people are Users, who participate in sessions run by Moderators, Presenters and Panelists.

Moderators and Panelists appear in the Invited List with a blue icon.

CL presenters appear in the Invited List with a blue-and-yellow icon.
|
|
Users participate. Available features vary by product. Features may be disabled by moderator session control settings. Icon colors vary, as shown in these examples. |

Room Owner |
If a room is built on a your hotComm registration, you are the technical Room Owner for that room. You are also an authorized Panelist.
A Room Owner can change passwords, add listed moderators, clear the server block list, and receive "Send to Room Owner" email.

Panelist |
A Panelist is authorized by 1stWorks on the relay server. A Panelist can join rooms on that relay server as a moderator.

Listed Moderator |
The Listed Moderator is added to a specific room by the Room Owner. The Listed Moderator has administration features needed to manage a room session, such as the Session Control toolbar.
A Listed Moderator who joins the room as Panelist with the CL moderator password has many of the same room management features as the Room Owner.

CL Moderator |
The CL Moderator has administration features needed to manage a room session, plus some room configuration features such as changing the room password.
CL rights are authorized by password. If you log in with the CL Moderator password, you get the CL Moderator features.

CL Presenter |
The CL Presenter has the tools needed to present in a room, and is not affected by Session Control toolbar controls.
CL rights are authorized by password. If you log in with the CL Presenter password, you get the CL Presenter features.

A user participates in the event.
With CL, if you log in with the CL User password (also known as the Room pasword), you get the CL user features.
With Std/Pro, if you are not authorized as a Room Owner, Panelist or Listed Moderator, you get user features. Room Owners and Panelists can choose to log in as users, if they only want user features.
hotComm Java only offers user features.
