You can set recording to start and end at specified times. With hotComm Standard/Pro, you can use the same timer settings to login automatically to a room for recording, moderating, or both.

Timed Recording

You can make timed recordings with hotComm Standard/Pro, hotComm Lite or hotComm CL.

  1. Join the room you want to record.

  2. Click Session, then Session Record Setup.

  3. Select the recording options you want.

  4. Check Enable Time Recording, set the Start Time and End Time, and click OK.

    • You can set one time period.
    • The time is taken from your computer's time settings.
    • The Start and End times must be within a 24-hour period running from midnight to midnight, based on your computer's time settings.
    • You can not set the timer for a future date.
  5. Leave hotComm running. The recording will start at the specified start time.

When timed recording is enabled, the color of the R-in-a-circle icon is green. When recording is in progress, the background is blue.

Recording every day
If you plan to record every day at the same time please note that although some people find that the recording starts automatically every day at the specified time, other people find that they must refresh the settings every day by opening the Session Recording Setting window and clicking OK.

Making recordings at other times
Even if Enable Timed Recording is set, you can make recordings at other times. Simply click the R-in-a-circle or A-in-a-circle icon to start or stop the recording. Note that recording will stop at the End Time regardless of whether it was started automatically or by you.
