Selections Toolbox
Use the Selections Toolbox to select color, line width and other characteristics of the mark-up.
You use the Selections Toolbox with:
Feature |
Description |
Timed Camera |
Start showing your presentation with the timed camera. Then, click the small "c" icon in the lower left corner of your hotComm window. The timed camera data freezes, and you can use the Selections Toolbox to mark-up on top of the frozen presentation. When you exit the the Selections Toolbox, the data starts moving again. |

Collaboration Menu |
In the hotWeb window, select the Collaboration menu, then select Transparent Collaborator. |

WhiteBoard |
The Selections Toolbox opens automatically when you start the WhiteBoard. |

Color |
To select a color, click a color button.

Size
|
To select a line width and font size, either:

Select a size button. |
The Size affects both Solid and Text.

Solid
|
To draw solid lines, click the Solid button. Then, position your cursor on the spot where you want to start the line and drag to the end of the line.

Straight line |
Right-click, and move your mouse. The straight line follows your mouse as the radius of a circle. Note: the radius appears black until you release the mouse. |

Text or Nametag

Text |
To enter text, click the Text button. Position your cursor on the spot where you want to start the text, and type. |
Nametag |
To add a name tag, click the Text button, position your cursor on a spot, and right-click. Your hotComm Display name appears. |

Pointer
|
To use a pointer, click the pointer button. The pointer displays the selected color and your hotComm Display name.
(11/14/07) The Pointer tool in the Selections Toolbox is disabled if there are more than 4 public users (non-moderators/non-presenters) in a room.

Rectangle or Frame
|
To create a rectangle or a frame, click the Rectangle button.
For a solid rectangle, also click the Solid button.
For the selected color, use a left-click mouse action. For the opposite color, use a right-click mouse action.

To clear the mark-up, select Reset from the Collaboration menu, or click the CLR button in the Selections toolbox. |
Undo

To back up one drawing action, select Undo from the Collaboration menu, or click the Back arrow button in the Selections toolbox. |
Room Size Limitation (confirmed 11/14/07):
- The Whiteboard feature is disabled if there are more than 10 public users (non-moderators/non-presenters) in a room. If there are more than 10 users, the Whiteboard may appear briefly and then disappear.
- The Pointer tool in the Selections Toolbox is disabled if there are more than 4 public users in a room.
