Record and Playback Audio

hotComm Standard/Pro, hotComm Lite and hotComm CL can record audio by itself.

Setup and Record - hotComm Standard/Pro

  1. Join the room you want to record and make sure you hear audio.

  2. Click Session, then Session Recording Setup.

  3. Check HCR, un-check all HCR options except Audio, and click OK.

  4. To start or stop the recording, click the R-in-a-circle icon in the chat window for that room.

Note: If you make an HCR Audio/Visual recording, an audio file is created while you're making the recording. It is added into the visuals when you stop recording. You can use the audio file by itself to playback just the audio.

  3. Check Record Audio Only and click OK.

Playback

  1. Open your hotComm Transcripts folder. To do this, right-click the hotComm Transcripts folder on your desktop and select Open. (Or, click Windows Start, then All Programs, then 1stWorks Corporation, then hotComm, then View Transcripts.)

  2. Find the recording file you just made. The Audio files are labeled Wave Sound. The recording file name includes the date, a "t" number and the roomname. The file extension is .wav.

  3. Double-click the recording to start playing it with your default media player. Or, right-click on the recording, select Open with ... and select the media player of your choice. The recording should start to playback in your media player.
