Recording and Playback are described in these topics:
Playback .HCR Session Recording
Individual users can play back session recordings for themselves through hotComm Standard/Pro, hotComm Lite and hotComm CL. See Who Can Record and Playback.
Offline Playback - You can play a recording offline, without being connected to the 1stWorks Network, such as on an airplane.
hotComm Standard/Pro moderators can broadcast a session recording into a room. Any hotComm client (including Java) can view a recording played back through a room.
Viewing a recording in a room
If a recording is being played in a room, you see it as if it were a realtime presentation. There is nothing special you need to do to view a recording in a room.
Viewing individually through hotComm Standard/Pro
To play the recording through hotComm Standard/Pro:
- Make sure the Recording Playback Toolbar is visible. Click View, then Playback Toolbar.
The options are (left to right):
- Stop playback
- Go to start
- Jump Back in 30 second increments.
- Playback individually (not in a room).
- Pause
- Jump Forward in 1 minute increments.
- Forward to end
- Playback into a room
The triangles are colored when you can playback. Blue means individual playback. Yellow means in-a-room playback.
- Click the blue triangle or the yellow triangle in the Playback Toolbar. This opens the Select Session Media for Playback window.
Check playback options:

Session recording files have a .HCR extension. Note that this option shows only .HCR files.
